The Bulb & Bloom is our latest project here at The Duke Hotel Hilmarton. 

Our amazing neighbour and florist Emma provides us with seasonal fresh flowers, dry flowers, and plants for The Duchess Lounge (our cafe and farm shop). The Bulb & Bloom's flower workshops are hosted outdoors overlooking our outstanding view of untouched English countryside. During the winter, and when the weather isn't the greatest, Emma hosts her classes in The Duchess Lounge cafe.

About our workshops & flowers: We are passionate about seasonal flowers and the art of floral design. Whether you are a budding enthusiast or an exceptional florist looking to refine your skills, our hands-on workshops and classes offer something for everyone. Learn the skills behind conditioning flowers, creating arrangments, exploring seasonal blooms, and discovering new techniques.

- Basic floristry: perfect for beginners. This class covers essential techniques, flower care, and the fundamentals of creating beautiful bouquets and centrepieces.

- Advanced floral art: for those looking to take their skills to the next level. This workshop focuses on intricate arrangements, design concepts, and the artistry behind creating show-stopping floral displays. 

- Wedding & event floristry: learn how to design stunning wedding flowers, from bouquets to large installations, and get tips for working with clients and event planners.

- Seasonal & Holiday Florals: Explore how to use seasonal flowers to create festive arrangements for holidays, celebrations, and special occasions. We are known for our Autumnal and Christmas wreath-making workshops.

Are you looking to organize your next event but don't know where to start?

We can offer everything you are looking for: The Duke Hotel is a beautiful Victorian pub dating back to 1843; with 4 freshly renovated en-suite boutique bedrooms, a caravan site with 5 pitches, a restaurant (able to host 45+ people) with a beautiful beer garden (up to 60 people).

The old Coach House has been converted into The Duchess Lounge (hosting 40+ people), operating as a cafe/tea room/ small farm shop in the morning, and as a private function room in the evenings.

Our chef and his team have been awarded 2AA rosettes and know how to host any party.
