Nestled in the Wiltshire countryside, our charming cafe and farm shop offers a cosy retreat for those seeking a peaceful escape and a taste of homemade goodness. Whether you're craving a leisurely brunch or a delightful afternoon tea, we serve fresh, locally-sourced dishes that bring the flavours of the season to your plate. Our farm shop showcases an array of handpicked, artisanal products, perfect for taking home a little piece of the countryside. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy the simple joys of life.
The Duchess Lounge is a small, independently run tea room part of The Duke Hotel grounds.
We serve Brunch, lunch and afternoon tea, cream tea, freshly made sandwiches & bagels (gluten-free bagels too), bacon & sausage baps, waffles, pastries, lots of cakes, muffins and sausage rolls.

We serve teas & coffees (we also have decaf coffee beans) made with regular cow milk, soy or oat milk.
​
In our cafe we also display our Farm Shop items for sale, which are a collection of locally sourced produce such as organic butter, organic milk, free-range eggs, local cheeses, some fresh veggies, local raw honey, chutneys, sauces, condiments, teas, coffee beans, selection of oils, balsamic vinegar and handcrafted beeswax candles.

We proudly support our local community and the surrounding small and independent businesses like ours.

We are currently running from Wednesday to Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm.
We proudly accept families, children and we are very dog friendly.
The Duchess can be hired for private events, small weddings and family gatherings.

Enjoy our usual Sunday roast with your family and friends, or why not try our stunning Tomahawk for two?
About the steak:
£85 - 1 kg (36oz) Tomahawk steak for two seared and cooked medium rare (or as you want), served with all our roast dinner bits: roast potatoes, glazed roots, buttered greens, gravy & Yorkshire puddings.
Alternatively, served as steak with fries, roast tomatoes and mushrooms and our house peppercorn sauce.
(Pre-order required for tables of 6 and above at least a week prior to Father's Day)
(Tomahawk steak is to be pre-booked by the 14th of June in advance; the steak is to be shared between max 2 people and once pre-order it cannot be refunded).

Cream tea & Afternoon tea
Traditional cream tea £7.95
A scone of your choice, jam, clotted cream and a pot of tea or Americano coffee.

Savoury cream tea £7.95
A cheddar cheese scone, cream cheese, chilli jam, pot of tea or Americano coffee.

Afternoon tea £40 per couple.
Includes a fruit scone, a plain scone, a selection of fine patisserie mignon, a selection of four types of sandwiches, clotted cream, jam and a pot of tea or Americano coffee.

You can also add a glass of Prosecco or a bottle.
​
Gluten-free/vegan afternoon tea is available on request. ​

The Duchess is a detached building built over two floors,
with a private bar and lounge on the ground floor and
a light and spacious dining room on the first floor;
perfectly suited for private dinners, weddings, and parties.
The Duchess can comfortably accommodate more than 40 people.

Please note that the premise is an old Victorian grade two listed building; therefore, only the ground floor is wheelchair accessible.

Unfortunately, we do not allow external food or beverages apart from those provided by us.
We do provide cakes on pre-order, therefore a "cakeage" fee of £45 may be applied should you bring your own cake.
​
To hire the venue, we require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total amount of the food package chosen.
The hiring space fees depend on the length of time and the number of staff needed to cater for the event.
The deposit amount will be removed from the final bill at the end of your stay.
A minimum of 48 hr notice is required for booking alterations.
