Our gastropub

When you visit The Duke Hotel, there may be a few things you would like

to know about the food we serve in our restaurant.

Our suppliers:

Our “ethos” is around the concept of sustainability. We only choose suppliers with a sustainability policy similar to ours, and we prefer choosing suppliers within a radius of 20 miles from our building. Small, independent, family-run business to the front! Our award-winning butcher supplies us with the best quality cuts from Wiltshire County and its surroundings, and our free-range eggs are laid only a stone's throw away. We prefer investing in organic food such as our milk, butter, some cheese and wine, and we grow our own herbs and vegetables when possible.

Our MSC-certified fishmonger ensures that our fish and seafood are caught sustainably and in the least impactful way on the ocean. We proudly choose species native to the cold coasts of England and Scotland. All our suppliers are listed on our website.

Local and Seasonal:

We respect every ingredient in the kitchen, so we strive to use all parts of our food.

Our food waste from the kitchen is then converted into compost used to grow our

herbs and vegetables. Our menu changes many times throughout the seasons.

We proudly blend classical gastronomic techniques with elements of European & Asian cuisines.

Some of our suppliers:

@downlandproduce: 28-days grass fed Lackham beef, free-range chicken & pork (Melksham/ Lackham/Wiltshire county).

@kingfisher_brixham: MSC-certified fish only (Brixham, Scotland, UK caught fish mainly).

@The Good Egg Company: free-range chicken eggs, quail & duck eggs (Trowbridge).

@whitehorsehoney: raw honey & beeswax candles (Chippenham based, harvesting from bees from Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds).

@heritagefinefood: Fruit & veg (Wiltshire based produce, Bristol, Bath and Swindon base).

@Harveyandbrockless: deli, cheeses, meat and other delicatessens (They import from Spain, Italy greece, but we mainly use them for their UK based suppliers, most of our cheeses comes from a 5 miles ratio from us).

Plank's Dairies: Organic butter & milk freshly delivered every wednesday (Devizes but farming from nearby villages).

@hawkstone: Local Beer & cides (Oxfordshire & the Cotswods) supporting British farmers movement.

@ramsburybrewery & distillary: our real ale comes from them as well as gins & vodka (Marlborough, Wiltshire).                They only use their own spring water from their estate to produce their drinks.

@blenheimpalace (Oxfordshire) Natural Mineral Spring and Sparkling water drawn from the aquifer within the estate.

 â€‹

Note* We are proud to support our local suppliers and to use as much local as possible, however, as we specialize in Italian & Asian cusines, some of our suppliers provides us with the finest selection of produce from Italy (truffle, pasta, truffle oil, burrata, parmesan etc..) & Japan (organic rice, sake, plum wine, whiskeys, spirits, liqueurs, sauces and condiments).
